Shaniko is where you leave your heart
dropping down into two levels
some of it familiar most of it not
backwards paying attention
animals rocks kids looking up
a large ungulate burnt stumps
bear black even a place called
Bear Hollow where who knows what
goes on meeting my eye expecting
