The fig tree needs covering
whole thing
even its sides
branching
under the green tarp.
Frost will fall tonight
from up the Umpqua--
Mt. Scott's shaggy mane
clear cut slopes knobby protrusion.
To say bathos is quite popular
but I took the road travelled
less by red-tailed hawks
more when I was a deer.
